The QFMA is one of the most influential health and safety voices in our industry. For many years, it has embraced a leadership role in this area thanks to the expertise it has developed on behalf of its members. The QFMA is also the pioneering force behind prevention mutuals. Over the last decade, it has played a key role in setting up these groups to significantly increase the overall performance of its members in areas of health and safety, and to reduce contributions whether or not members adhere to other mutuals. In fact, due to the QFMA’s credibility in this area, it now plays an important advisory role for the CSST’s Board of Directors.
Since 1998, the QFMA has brought its members together to better manage its ongoing — and often complex — health and safety files. Today, two mutuals are available at the Association, which are based on the risk index for companies.
With the help of expert advice, a member company can set up an effective management approach for their health and safety files. Advice is also given to help define and maintain a prevention program tailored to specific group needs. The implementation of this program in each company within the group helps improve performance as a whole, which has a direct, positive impact on premiums. As a result, a member company can deal with highly complex situations with complete peace of mind.
Companies that make up these mutuals enjoy a series of benefits that often transpire in day-to-day activities. Additionally, the recent merger of QFMA mutuals with those from the pulp and paper and forestry industries (ASSIFQ / ASSPPQ) offers member companies very stable CSST contributions, recognized professional services, the highest performance ratios for mutuals in Quebec and management fees that are second to none. With the QFMA, why go anywhere else?
